Championship giants Leeds United need a left-back but league rivals Wolves and Fulham could deliver a blow to their January transfer plans.

Leeds United are making a conscious effort to finally sign a replacement for Charlie Taylor this month.
There are two left-backs heavily linked with a move to Elland Road as it stands, with Belgian publication HLN stating that Club Brugge’s Laurens De Bock has an agreement to move to West Yorkshire in January.
And The Sun (4th January, page 60) stated that Southampton’s highly-rated 22-year-old Sam McQueen was being eyed up for a short-term loan move to Thomas Christiansen’s side.

But is there a chance that both deals could come crashing down? Voetbal Krant state that Championship rivals Wolves are determined to beat Leeds to the signature of former Belgium Under-21 international De Bock.
And now another second tier side, Fulham, could potentially deliver a blow to Leeds.
Because The Sun states that Slavisa Jokanovic’s side are on the verge of signing Matt Targett on loan from Southampton on a short-term deal until the end of the season. It seems hugely unlikely then that the Saints would let both Targett and McQueen leave on loan.

And The Sun does indeed point out that Mauricio Pellegrino will likely utilise McQueen as back-up for first-choice left-back Ryan Bertrand if Targett seals his move to Fulham, who Southampton beat 1-0 in the FA Cup third round on Saturday at Craven Cottage.
Leeds fans should be relieved that the club is trying to solve their problem position, but there may yet be a sting in the tail.
