Leeds United have reportedly sent scouts to watch the next generation of Championship rivals Aston Villa but could one move to Elland Road?

There has been a growing trend of Aston Villa youngsters going elsewhere in an attempt to secure first-team football of late.

Andre Green moved to Portsmouth on Wednesday despite opposition from a number of frustrated supporters who felt the winger was ready for a regular role in the starting XI. Easah Suliman and Mitchell Clark have also departed this month, despite Steve Bruce needing cover at centre-half and right-back.

And it seems that Leeds United could be hoping to take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding some of Villa’s most exciting young stars.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Leeds sent scouts to watch Aston Villa’s U23 clash with Fulham this week and it will be interesting to see whether they make a move for anyone before the transfer window closes on Friday.

Callum O’Hare, the club’s Academy Player of the Year for 2017/18, has stood out at reserve level over the last few months and that was the case again in the 2-1 win against Fulham.

The diminutive playmaker was at the heart of everything positive in claret and blue, running the game and showcasing the skill that marks him out as a real budding talent.

20-year-old O’Hare is arguably the brightest talent in Villa’s academy right now and if Leeds go for anyone, it should be him.
