Leeds United lost 1-0 at Birmingham City on Saturday as they dropped down to third in the Championship table.

Leeds United drew a blank away from home on Saturday afternoon as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat which again sent them tumbling out of the automatic promotion positions.
Patrick Bamford was the villain of the piece at St Andrews, hitting the post mere seconds before Che Adams scored Birmingham City’s winner while spurning a number of glorious chances thereafter.
And, to make matters worse, Leeds’ one-that-got-away Mbaye Diagne produced his finest performance of another prolific season on the same afternoon.
Turkish Football claimed that Diagne was a target for Leeds over the summer and heading towards January on the back of his impressive goal-scoring form at Kasimpasa.
TEAMtalk, meanwhile, stated that he would have cost £9 million.
On recent evidence, the Senegal international could have been worth every penny. Diagne hit 20 goals in just 17 games for Kasimpasa in the first half of 2018/19 and he has maintained that incredible form since joining Galatasaray in January.

Diagne hit a hat-trick as the 2018 Super Lig champions thrashed Yeni Malatyaspor on Saturday, meaning he currently sits top of the scoring charts with 26. The fact that he has reached that tally in just 23 games is even more impressive.
If only Bamford was in that sort of form right now.
