Kemar Roofe has been a star under Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United, scoring four goals in six Championship starts so far.

As one Leeds United fan points out, it is amazing what a difference two months can make.
Kemar Roofe was criticised so often by a number of Leeds fans last season that you’d forget he finished the season as their top scorer with 14 goals in all competitions. But ever since Marcelo Bielsa took over, the former West Brom youngster has emerged as one of the most popular and impressive players at Elland Road.
Bielsa’s free-flowing and expansive tactics have certainly got the best out of Roofe, who has scored four goals in six Championship starts before being sidelined through injury.

As a result, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports that Leeds are now hoping to tie him down to a long-term deal with his current contract due to expire in 2020. Fortunately, Roofe himself is keen on committing his future to the Championship pacesetters, though he would like a pay-rise to put him among Leeds’ highest earners.
If you ask the majority of supporters, however, Roofe is worth the money. He is key to the way Leeds’ play and not tying him down straight away would only risk enticing interest from Premier League clubs after all.
