Marcelo Bielsa’s Championship high-flyers Leeds United are reportedly keen to sign Spurs’ Premier League centre-back Juan Foyth on loan.
The Juan Foyth to Leeds United rumours have appeared again.
Back in June, Football London claimed that The Whites were keen on the out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur centre-back with the presence of Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road understood to be the driving force behind the links.
Bielsa is well documented to have a good relationship with his former Argentina powerhouse Mauricio Pochettino, who is now the manager of Tottenham. And, according to TYC, Bielsa was also keen to bring Foyth to Lille a year ago.
Now, AS Argentina are suggesting that Foyth to Leeds is on the cards again heading into the January transfer window.
An £8 million signing from Estudiantes in August 2017, the 20-year-old has not made a single appearance in all competitions this season so a short-term loan at Leeds could be exactly what the gifted defender needs.
And Leeds fans certainly seem to be of the opinion that Foyth’s potential arrival would boost their hopes of ending their long Premier League exile.
Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper are the only natural centre-backs at Bielsa’s disposal right now so Foyth could provide some much-needed depth.
