Cardiff City are reportedly making a bid for Kilmarnock forward Eamonn Brophy but the striker could thrive at Championship rivals Leeds United.

It has been a while since we heard anything about Eamonn Brophy.
TEAMtalk stated at the end of May that Leeds United were keeping tabs on the Kilmarnock forward but, almost two months on, the trail has grown cold somewhat. Why, however, is anyone’s guess.
The 2018/19 season was a breakthrough campaign for this Glasgow-born striker. 12 goals in 33 games is an impressive tally but Brophy is about more than just putting the ball in the back of the net.
He’s an explosive talent capable of playing in a variety of forward positions, adept at racing in behind with pace and power or dropping deep and firing long-range thunderbolts from distance. At just 23, imagine what Marcelo Bielsa could achieve if he gets his hands on a player with such raw talent.
Patrick Bamford has looked lightweight and lumbering throughout pre-season while doubts persist about whether Kemar Roofe will stay at Elland Road for another year. So Leeds shouldn’t be so quick to put Brophy on the back-burner, particularly now a direct Championship rival has expressed an interest.

According to the Mail, former Leeds boss Neil Warnock is hoping to lure this one-time Celtic youngster to Cardiff City by making a £1 million bid. Kilmarnock, for what it’s worth, are willing to listen to offers.
Now, Leeds fans have been forced to watch on and worry as potential promotion rivals snap up the likes of Semi Ajayi, Anthony Knockaert and Kieran Dowell. Brophy joining Cardiff would feel like another missed opportunity.
