Steven Gerrard has come under a bit of pressure from some Rangers fans of late after a difficult run of Scottish Premiership fixtures

Lee McCulloch is not getting carried away after a difficult couple of weeks for Rangers – and has implored the fans to remain patient too.
Steven Gerrard’s side have won just one of their last four games in all competitions and followed up a 1-0 home defeat against Aberdeen with a disappointing draw away at a relegation threatened Dundee at the weekend.
As a result, Rangers are now two points behind Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with Brendan Rodgers’ side also boasting a game in hand.
But, speaking to the Evening Times, McCulloch has aimed to remind fans that this Gers side are far from the finished article given that Gerrard has only had one transfer window to build a squad in his image.
“Some fans are getting a bit agitated after the loss to Aberdeen and draw with Dundee,” said the former Ibrox skipper. “But let’s remember that Steven has only had one transfer window here – and has improved the standard of the team greatly.
“So let’s keep faith with him and imagine how things will look after he has had two, three or even four transfer windows.
“The recruitment carried out by Mark Allen and Steven has been great and I think the squad will only get stronger in time.”

Rangers are expected to make changes to their squad in the January transfer window with The Express claiming that Gerrard wants to reinforce his back-line with the giant Milwall defender Jake Cooper. The Express also states that Liverpool’s England U21 striker Dominic Solanke is Gerrard’s number one target.
And it must be remembered that this Rangers team looks much improved compared to the misfit sides of Pedro Caixinha, Mark Warburton and Graeme Murty, even if there is a long way to go.
