England U21 centre-back Kortney Hause has played just seven minutes of Championship football for Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Black Country giants are embarking on one of the most exciting and ambitious projects in European football right now with their Chinese owners willing to pay huge amounts of money to turn the club from a Championship team into a European contender.
So it perhaps should not be a surprise that centre-back Kortney Hause has decided to commit his future to the club, extending his contract until the summer of 2022 according to the Express and Star.
But although sporting director Kevin Thelwell has spoken glowingly about the England U21 ace’s potential and promise, there is one standout stat that perhaps makes Hause’s decision to sign a new deal a little less understandable.
He has played made just one Championship appearance all season. And that lasted just seven minutes, coming off the bench in the latter stages of a 3-0 win against Brentford in January.
Hause, who was a regular for Paul Lambert the campaign prior, has spent the entire season behind Willy Boly, Ryan Bennett, Conor Coady, Danny Batth and even Roderick Miranda in the pecking order.
This is without mentioning the fact that Wolves are expected to spend big and strengthen again when promotion to the Premier League is assured. So the chances of Hause featuring regularly under Nuno Espirito Santo in the top flight look slim as things stand.
