Scottish Premiership champions Celtic should consider moving for World Cup defender Kara Mbodji this summer.

Celtic’s links with Kara Mbodji go back for at least three years.
According to the Mail in the summer of 2015, the side then managed by Ronny Deila had identified the Senegalese centre-back as a potential replacement for Virgil van Dijk, who would eventually move on to Southampton later in the window.
And, as we head into August, Celtic might have their best chance since to finally bring Mbodji to Scotland.
According to HLN, his Anderlecht manager, Hein Vanhaezebrouck, has decided to cash in on the 28-year-old as he wants to freshen up his defence with younger players. As a result, Mbodji will be available for just £4.5 million; half what Anderlecht were asking for last summer.
For such a bargain fee, Celtic should be willing to go head-to-head with Premier League newcomers Fulham, who are reported to be leading the chase as things stand.

Mbodji is a powerful, commanding and aggressive centre-back with plenty of European experience in his locker. In his words, he has many of the attributes Celtic should be looking for in a defender, with centre-half one position the club should look to strengthen if they are to improve on last season’s displays on the continent.
Mbodji started as Anderlecht kept a clean sheet at Parkhead in a 1-0 win back in December, so Brendan Rodgers has witnessed his talents first hand.
If Celtic are to push on in Europe, Mbodji is the kind of player who would give them some added steel.
