Spurs reportedly want to bring Milenkovic to the Premier League – but Juventus are interested in the Fiorentina defender as well.
Fiorentina paid Partizan Belgrade £4 million for Nikola Milenkovic in 2017 and La Viola can expect to make a big profit on the Serbian centre-back very soon.
Because Milenkovic’s fine performances in Serie A have attracted plenty of attention with Tottenham Hotspur one of a number of clubs who have emerged as suitors in recent weeks.
According to The Mirror, Spurs have identified the 20-year-old as a potential replacement for Toby Alderweireld, who is out of contract at the end of this season and still expected to bid farewell to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
But if Spurs want to bring Milenkovic to North London, they will have to fight off Juventus.
According to Corrieo dello Sport, the Serie A champions have offered Fiorentina around £30 million to sign the youngster, who impressed for Serbia at the World Cup, in the January transfer window.
It is claimed that Juve are impressed by Milenkovic’s versatility with the centre-back also capable of playing on the right. And Fiorentina would be happy to make a £20 million profit.
The ball is now in Tottenham’s court, then. With Spurs chairman Daniel Levy directing much of the club’s funds into the building of their brand new stadium, money for transfers has been a little tight with no new players arriving in the summer.
But, in today’s market, £30 million could be seen as good value for money.
