Steven Gerrard could leave his role as manager of Liverpool’s U18s to take over at Scottish Premiership giants Rangers in a shock move.

Funnily enough, exactly one year ago today the BBC announced that Steven Gerrard was to take over as manager of the Liverpool U18s as he aimed to get his coaching career off the ground.
Flash forward 12 months and Gerrard is already seemingly close to landing one of the biggest jobs in British football.

Now Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s first-team manager who was only too happy to welcome club legend Gerrard back to Anfield a year ago, has had his say on reports that the 37-year-old could be heading north of the border.
“I am not worried,” the charismatic German told the BBC. “Whatever he wants to do we will support him in that.
“There is no decision. I can imagine clubs are interested in signing Stevie, [he has] massive experience as a player so I would think about him signing for a club. We will support him in all directions.”

Gerrard has done a fine job with the U18s at Melwood. As it stands, Liverpool’s youngsters are third in the U18 Premier League table, level on points with Manchester City but ten behind Manchester United.
In the last 12 months, Gerrard has established himself as a modern, attentive coach with impressive man management skills.
