Jack Thomson has impressed for Rangers at youth level but is yet to make his debut in the Scottish Premiership under Steven Gerrard.
Some Rangers players are on loan away from Ibrox right now and a number of them are making a very positive impression.
Jason Holt and Greg Docherty have stood out in League One at Fleetwood Town and Shrewsbury respectively, Jak Alnwick has impressed between the sticks at Scunthorpe United, while Zak Rudden has scored four goals in four games at Falkirk.
And it seems that young Jack Thomson is keen to join them.
The 18-year-old midfielder has impressed for Rangers at youth level but a first-team debut appears a long way away right now. And, speaking on the official Rangers academy Twitter account, Thomson has admitted that he could look to move elsewhere on a short-term basis in January.
Rangers’ youth coach Peter Lovenkrands has been impressed with Thomson of late, describing him and Cammy Palmer as ‘outstanding’ after a recent 6-2 thrashing of Motherwell, as reported by the club’s official website.
Thomson was then called up by the first-team for the League Cup clash with Ayr United but was not included on the bench by manager Steven Gerrard.
But if he can prove himself at senior level away from Rangers, it will do his chances of a senior role no harm at all.
