Rangers reportedly want to bring Championship right-back Mahlan Romeo to the Scottish Premiership next summer.

Many of Rangers’ summer signings have been a big success. Ryan Kent has thrilled fans with his speed and trickery, Scott Arfield has added goals from midfield and Joe Worrall has grown into his role at centre-back.
Jon Flanagan, however, has endured a much tougher time at Ibrox.
A defender who Steven Gerrard knew well from his time at Liverpool, Flanagan arrived in the summer on a free promising to bring athleticism and versatility to Rangers’ defence after a number of injury-hit seasons.
But it just hasn’t worked out. Thanks to the form of James Tavernier, Flanagan has often been forced to play at left-back but he has looked as comfortable as a fish climbing a tree at times.
With the summer transfer window looming large, is his future now up in the air?

According to the Express, Rangers are keen to sign Millwall’s highly-rated full-back Mahlan Romeo.
It is claimed that the Glasgow giants see Romeo as a replacement for Tavernier if he leaves at the end of the season. Yet the fact that Gerrard would allegedly rather sign the Antigua and Barbuda international rather than give Flanagan a chance in his natural position speaks volumes.
