After two disappointing Premier League seasons under Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham United, ‘Chicharito’ has returned to La Liga.

Javier Hernandez has taken a drastic pay cut to seal a move from West Ham United to Sevilla, leaving the La Liga club’s sporting director stunned, as reported by Goal.
After two years and just 16 goals, Hernandez’s difficult spell with The Hammers has come to an end.
A natural-born goalscorer he may be, the Mexican legend never appeared to really fit in under Manuel Pellegrini with starts increasingly hard to come by and the former Manchester City boss preferring a more all-round forward like Sebastien Haller and Marko Arnautovic in attack.
Hernandez joined Sevilla on deadline day for £8 million, half the fee West Ham paid for his services two years ago (the Telegraph), and it seems that he was more than willing to take a financial hit in order to find a way out of the London Stadium.
“I’ve never seen a player cut his wages the way he has done in order to come here. That’s a sign,” said Monchi, the esteemed wheeler-dealer who made huge profits on the likes of Dani Alves, Sergio Ramos and Alberto Moreno.
“He has made an important financial sacrifice to come here, and when I think about that I realize it can only be down to his true desire to play for Sevilla.

“I think he is among the best strikers in the world. Javier has goals, has quality, he’s fast and he’s a good finisher.”
It’s fair to say Hernandez never looked like one of the worlds best in claret and blue.
The one-time Manchester United and Real Madrid striker is the sort of player who only thrives when a team is set up specifically to his strengths; provide him with chances and he’ll finish them but ask him to lead the line and bring others into play and you’ll be left feeling rather underwhelmed.
Marquee summer signing Haller, with his brilliant link play and ability to hold off defenders with ease, already looks like a better fit for Pellegrini’s lone-striker system.
