Tottenham Hotspur had reportedly made an enquiry about signing Jann-Fiete Arp from Bundesliga strugglers Hamburg.

It has all gone quiet on the Jann-Fiete Arp front of late.
Earlier in the year, a whole host of top level clubs were linked with the record-breaking Hamburg striker. But, after Hamburg were relegated from the Bundesliga for the first time, speculation over Arp’s future has been strangely absent from the gossip columns.

The Mirror claimed back in January that Spurs had made an enquiry about the teenage striker, who became the first player born in the 21st century to score a Bundesliga goal back in October against Hertha Berlin.
And while £7 million is not exactly cheap for a player who has made just eight starts in his professional career, it is not often a talent as big as Arp is on the market for a less than astronomical fee.

Compare Arp with Ryan Sessegnon, Fulham’s 17-year-old winger who reportedly has a price-tag of £50 million on his head, and the blonde-haired German, who scored seven goals in five games for Hamburg’s U19s last season, looks more and more like a potential snip.
Arp would not be a regular starter at Tottenham but he would only benefit from working under Mauricio Pochettino; a manager famous for turning youth into star quality.
