Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has been linked with Liverpool.

Could Watford end up being the victims of their own success? The Hornets have started the season in brilliant fashion, sitting seventh in the table and just three points behind Arsenal in the final Champions League position.
Therefore, interest from elsewhere in their star players seems almost inevitable. Unsurprisingly, Abdoulaye Doucoure has once again been linked with some of the Premier League’s big hitters.
The Mirror reports that Liverpool and Tottenham are big fans of the powerful French midfielder, who is understood to be valued at around £35 million.
Liverpool welcomed both Fabinho and Naby Keita to Anfield this summer and can also turn to long-serving players Jordan Henderson and James Milner. So there are doubts about whether Doucoure is really a necessary addition to Jurgen Klopp’s side.
But Liverpool legend Jan Molby is thinking positively.
“Midfield is the one area where maybe I’m looking for a little bit more than what we have at present,” the former Denmark defender, who represented the Reds between 1984 to 1996, told the Liverpool Echo.
“And signing Doucoure would take a lot of risks out of play. He’s already played in the Premier League, he has settled into life in England, and those things are important.
“Doucoure is a modern-day midfielder. He covers the ground very, very quickly but there’s a lot more to his game than that.

“Every time I have seen him, he has admittedly looked a bit sloppy. But the way to sharpen him up is to train and play with better players. He’d have that at Liverpool. Sometimes when you look at players, you are looking at potential, and I think there is untapped potential in Doucoure’s game.”
The Mirror claims that Tottenham have identified Doucoure as a replacement for Victor Wanyama, who has found himself out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino in North London.
Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen, but the latter’s Financial Fair Play limitations mean they could struggle to meet Watford’s hefty asking price.
