Nathaniel Clyne impressed on his Premier League debut for Bournemouth after Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool loaned him out.

Bournemouth might have lost again away at Everton on Sunday but that was no reflection on Nathaniel Clyne’s efforts at right-back.
The England international made his Premier League debut for the Cherries at Goodison Park and impressed for the most part, looking like a solid addition to a shaky defence and providing plenty of energy going forwards.
But did Liverpool make a mistake letting him go to the Vitality Stadium on loan? Despite the presence of Trent Alexander-Arnold in the Reds’ starting XI, Jamie Carragher feels Clyne had something to offer at Anfield.
“(He will bring) consistency (to Bournemouth,” Carragher told Sky Sports (13 January, 1:00pm) of Clyne, whose only Premier League start for Jurgen Klopp this season came in the 3-1 win against Manchester United.
“I was surprised Liverpool let him go, I must say that. I know he hasn’t been involved for a long time, but Liverpool have got young players there.

“He played that one game against Manchester United and he was outstanding, considering how long he’d been out (injured).”
Carragher might have a point. Beyond Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool are not blessed with a tonne of options on the right after all.
Versatile duo Joe Gomez and James Milner are more suited to other positions and, although Ki-Jana Hoever is a huge talent, it must be remembered that he is just 16.
But, if Clyne can prove his fitness and form at Bournemouth after missing much of the last 18 months with a troublesome back injury, don’t bet against Klopp bringing him back to Anfield at the end of the campaign.
