West Ham United are reportedly rivalling Wolves and Premier League rivals Everton to sign Jack Wilshere when his Arsenal contract expires.

West Ham United have been linked for some time with a bargain swoop for Jack Wilshere at the end of the season.
The 34-time England international looks set to bring an end to a lifelong association with Arsenal when his contract expires this summer and West Ham (The Guardian), along with Everton and newly promoted Wolves (The Mirror), have been heavily tipped to sign him.
So, amid all the ongoing speculation, Hammers fans should be interested to read what Wilshere said about their club in the Arsenal matchday programme before David Moyes’ men lost 4-1 at The Emirates last Sunday.

“My dad and all his mates are West Ham fans. Most of them are season ticket holders. When you think of West Ham you think of their supporters and the love and the passion they have,” Wilshere, who has been pictured wearing the claret and blue kit as a child, wrote.
“They really feel everything. When it’s not going well, they’re down, when things are going well then they’re up. It’s been a little bit up and down for them this season. I don’t think they’ll go down, I think they’ll be all right because they’ve got enough.

“Next year they can really build on it. It’s a fantastic club, a big club, the stadium’s there, the fanbase is massive there. They have some of the best fans in the Premier League, so I just think they need to get the right balance and start getting the right results.”
Moyes is understood to be looking for a combative and box-to-box midfielder capable of offering quality at either end of the field next season and Wilshere, who has starred for Arsenal since returning to full fitness, fits the bill.
Wilshere has started 11 Premier League games this season – his highest tally for Arsenal since the 2013/14 season.
