Peterborough United’s League One phenomenon Jack Marriott is a man in demand with Nottingham Forest and Scottish Premiership giants Celtic reportedly keen.

It seems that Jack Marriott has chosen his favourite out of the eight clubs to express an interest this summer.
Peterborough United’s director of football Barry Fry, speaking to the Nottingham Post, has said that Forest are the front-runners to sign the 33-goal striker. Why? Because the club’s rich history is tempting Marriott to the City Ground.
But, for that reason, surely Celtic should be an enticing option for the 23-year-old former Luton Town front man, too.

The Scottish Sun stated in May that Celtic were scouting Marriott after a superb debut season at Peterborough, which he finished as the most prolific striker anywhere in the Football League. And if it is rich history that Marriott wants, the Hoops should be right up his street.
They have won the Scottish Premiership title a remarkable 49 times, not to mention winning the European Cup famously in 1967. And, while Nottingham Forest’s present is nothing like as silver-coated as their past, Celtic continue to bring in the trophies on an annual basis.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have won seven league crowns in a row, including successive domestic trebles, and they will be competing in the Champions League qualifiers again next season.
So, if Celtic make a move and the £5 million-rated Marriott still chooses Forest, the supporters would have a right to wonder why.
