Derby County and Boro reportedy want to bring Toney to the Championship after his brilliant League One form at Peterborough United.

Ivan Toney insists that he is fully focused on firing Peterborough United to the top of League One despite ongoing speculation linking him with a move to Championship duo Derby County and Middlesbrough, while speaking to Peterborough Live.
The former Newcastle United youngster has started the 2019/20 season in outstanding form. He has eight goals in just eight third-tier games already as part of a fearsome front three containing the reborn Mo Eisa and the enigmatic Marcus Maddison.
TEAMtalk claimed this week that Toney’s clinical finishing had caught the eye of Derby and Boro, who have struggled for goals themselves of late under new managers Phillip Cocu and Jonathan Woodgate.
But Toney doesn’t sound like a man angling for a move to Pride Park or the Riverside right now.
“Speculation is speculation, that is all it is, I don’t let it affect me,” admitted the 25-year-old, frustrated after a 2-0 defeat to Doncaster Rovers last time out.

“You can see that’s been the case because I was in good form around that point in August and ever since. My job is score as many goals as I can and help the team and that is my sole focus.”
Things could be different, however, if Derby or Middlesbrough make a big bid in the New Year. TEAMtalk claims that Peterborough could even demand an eight-figure transfer sum for a striker who is well on track to beating last season’s tally of 23 in all competitions.
