Celtic could turn to Scottish Premiership rivals Dundee as they eye Scott Bain as a possible replacement for thei injured Craig Gordon at Parkhead.
Celtic’s attempts to replace the stricken goalkeeper Craig Gordon are not exactly going to plan.
And the publication adds that the Scottish champions have failed in a late approach for Newcastle United starlet Freddie Woodman. The 20-year-old had already agreed to join Aberdeen on loan for the rest of the season.
There is a long list of alternative targets being considered by the Celtic chiefs, but surely one name stands out among the Emiliano Martinezs and Patrick Carlgrens.
The Scottish Sun state that the Hoops have approached Dundee about signing Scott Bain. The 26-year-old, currently on loan at Hibernian, is out of contract in the summer and Celtic are hopeful that they could snap him up for a nominal fee.
This is not the first time Celtic have looked closely at Bain. The Scotsman reported as far back as 2015 that the Hoops were big admirers of the solid shot-stopper, while the Daily Record stated almost a year ago that he was still in the thoughts of the perennial league winners.
Clearly, Celtic think very highly of the uncapped Scot. So now would be the perfect time to finally bring Bain to Parkhead.
