Nottingham Forest have been tipped to make a move for Queens Park Rangers’ Championship right-back Angel Rangel in the January transfer window.

Tendayi Darikwa has had his critics at Nottingham Forest. But no one could question the right-back’s performance in the comfortable 2-0 win against Ipswich Town at the City Ground on Saturday.
Lewis Grabban was once again the hero, scoring twice to move top of the Championship goal-scoring charts, but Darikwa was arguably the star of the show as Paul Lambert’s side were swept aside in the East Midlands.
It was his spilled shot which gifted Grabban the first while he set up the striker’s second with a rampaging run and pinpoint cross. In short, it was the sort of performance Darikwa badly needed with the January transfer window less than a month away.
According to The Mirror (17 November, page 63), Forest were planning to make a move for QPR’s veteran defender Angel Rangel when his contract at Loftus Road expires during the winter.

The 36-year-old has been in top form at both ends of the pitch in recent weeks for Steve McClaren’s side and even scored twice, his first ever brace in English football, during the 2-2 draw at Stoke City in November.
But with Darikwa stepping up in his 14th Championship start of the campaign, has he nailed down his place at the perfect time? And this may be good news for QPR, who have made no secret of their desire to keep hold of Rangel beyond January (Football London).
