Fulham, Wolves and Aston Villa are all interested in Sunderland loanee Lewis Grabban with parent club Bournemouth tipped to sell in January.
The fact that Lewis Grabban might not be a Sunderland player this time next month doesn’t bare thinking about for those put-upon fans.
The Bournemouth loanee has 11 goals in 17 games this season and appeared to be the club’s best bet for climbing away from the relegation zone in the second half of the season under new manager Chris Coleman.
But as TEAMtalk states, Bournemouth have the option of re-calling Grabban in January before selling him on in the New Year.
And while Wolves and Aston Villa have been more heavily linked, the report adds that Fulham are also interested in signing the proven Championship goalscorer.
While the Midland giants are flying high at the top end of the table, Fulham are still down in 12 and eight points adrift of the play-off places. They’ve also only scored 27 goals last season in stark contrast to their thrilling attacking displays of 2016/17 – with no player in Slavisa Jokanovic’s squad scoring more than four goals in total.
Therefore, there should be some added intrigue as Sunderland prepare to host Fulham at the Stadium of Light on Saturday afternoon. Who knows, perhaps Grabban will be playing against his future employers?
The in-form attacker may be more tempted by the prospect of fighting for promotion with Wolves or Villa but he is likely to be only a back-up option to either Leo Bonatini or Jonathan Kodjia, when the latter returns from injury that is.
At Fulham, however, Grabban could be the main man – fulfilling the same role that has coaxed out his best form at Sunderland.
