Rangers were reportedly interested in Dundee defender Jack Hendry but have now signed QPR’s Sean Goss on a six-month loan deal instead.

Who knows where Jack Hendry will be playing his football by the end of this month. There is no shortage of Premier League interest in the Dundee defender with Newcastle United, Southampton and Crystal Palace linked via The Daily Mail.
The report adds that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is also a big fan, praising Hendry to the hilt after an impressive performance against his side back in October.
But Rangers, who The Sunday Post claim had held an interest in the classy 22-year-old, might just have dropped out of the race. Speculation surrounding a move to Ibrox for Hendry has slowed down in the last week or so, and Rangers might just have signed an alternative.

According to the BBC, Sean Goss has arrived at Ibrox on a six-month loan deal from QPR.
And while the former Manchester United youngster is a midfielder by trade, he is equally comfortable playing as a ball-playing centre-half in the mould of Hendry, whose passing ability has seen him compared to John Stones.
Perhaps, then, the sudden signing of Goss represented a realisation that Hendry will be going elsewhere. Or perhaps even staying at Dundee with manager Neil McCann confident that a January exit will not be on the cards, as reported by The Courier.

Either way, reports that Goss has become Rangers’ first signing since the permanent appointment of Graeme Murty may just make Celtic’s plan to lure Hendry to Parkhead a little more straightforward.
Southampton, Newcastle and Palace may still be keen but Rangers might now have backed out of the race.
