Reports had suggested Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie was keen on a move to Championship Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

Oli McBurnie is reportedly interested in a return to the city he was born in 21 years ago, but a permanent move to the Championship might be in doubt.
According to the Scottish Sun, the promising Swansea City striker is hoping to sign for Leeds United this summer and it seems that The Whites are all too happy to bring him to Elland Road –on the back of a nine goal loan spell at Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.
With another year remaining on McBurnie’s contract at the Liberty Stadium, however, Swansea hold all the cards as things stand.

And, speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post ahead of his final game of that prolific spell at Barnsley, McBurnie has delivered a potential blow to Leeds by admitting that he would love the chance to prove himself in the Premier League – should Swansea stave off relegation that is.
“Of course, (playing in the Premier League) has always been a goal. I have got another year left at Swansea and we will sit down and see what the best options for me are,” McBurnie, who is yet to score a top flight goal for the South Welsh side, admitted.

Now, Leeds fans won’t need reminding that there is more chance of Paul Heckingbottom replacing Arsene Wenger than Premier League football coming to Elland Road next season.
So if McBurnie is promised a bigger role in Swansea’s squad, which is a possibility given that Tammy Abraham and Wilfried Bony are expected to depart, sealing a move to Leeds might not be his number one priority.
