Mark Warburton has presided over a series of personnel changers behind the scenes at Nottingham Forest – with a distinctly Rangers feel.

Mark Warburton is getting the old band back together at Nottingham Forest. Trusted talent spotter Frank MacParland will extend his stay as Director of Football while Jim Stewart will replace the long-serving Steve Sutton as the club’s goalkeeping coach.

According to the Nottingham Post, Warburton was determined to stage a reunion having worked with the former Middlesbrough goalkeeper at former club Rangers.

Therefore, you wonder who else will be on the manager’s guest list.

The Daily Record reported last month that, if Warburton attempts to re-sign any of his Ibrox favourites at the City Ground, goalkeeper Wes Foderingham will be at the top of his list.

The former Brentford boss described the 26-year-old as ‘top class’ when bringing him to Ibrox in 2015, even tipping him to win an England call-up.

Though international recognition still appears some way off, Foderingham has silenced his doubters this season with a string of fine performances, particularly during the latter days of Warburton’s tenure.

New Number One?

With the much-maligned Vladimir Stojkovic certain to leave this summer, Forest need support for the inexperienced Jordan Smith – meaning Warburton could turn to a player he knows and trusts.

And perhaps the appointment of Stewart as goalkeeping coach is an attempt to entice the former Swindon Town shot-stopper back to England.

The pair are understood to have a good relationship, Stewart admitting in February that Foderingham’s attitude and performances had been ‘first class’, the Evening Times report.

Therefore, Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha could face an unwanted challenge this summer.
