Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has been linked with a loan move to Championship side Reading, despite failing to make an impact at Leeds United or Wolves.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson looked the business when stepping into the first-team picture at Manchester United under Louis van Gaal.
Unfortunately, however, disappointing loans in the Championship with Wolves and Leeds United have cast real doubt on whether he will ever make it at the top level.
There does not appear to be any clear reason why the highly-rated left-back has struggled to make an impact during either of his two spells in the second tier. Borthwick-Jackson has looked impressive on the odd occasion he has played for Leeds, but only one of his five appearances have come in the league.

And, when spending the 2016/17 season at Wolves, the 20-year-old did not do a whole lot better with just six Championship starts to his name.
This should be a warning to Reading, then, with The Daily Mail stating that they could be the third Championship club to give Borthwick-Jackson the chance to prove himself away from Old Trafford.
It is understood that parent club Manchester United want Borthwick-Jackson to play more regular first-team football to aid his development and Reading boss Jaap Stam, a one-time fan favourite at the Theatre of Dreams, will offer him exactly that.

Thus, the Manchester-born England under-20 ace could see his loan spell at Leeds cut short this month before being farmed out to the Madejski instead. Ironically, he could end up fighting Tyler Blackett, another United academy graduate who failed to make the grade, for a place in Reading’s starting XI.
Yet after failing to make any sort of impression at Leeds or Wolves, Borthwick-Jackson would arrive at Reading with a real point to prove.
