Tottenham Hotspur reportedly scouted Premier League starlet Philip Billing in 2016 and he’s perfect for Mauricio Pochettino.

With Mousa Dembele out of contract in 2019 and seemingly certain to bid farewell to life in North London, Tottenham Hotspur appear to be searching high and wide for the Belgian’s long term successor.
In the last year or so, countless central midfielders have been linked with Mauricio Pochettino’s side with Mateo Kovacic, yes the one currently on loan at Chelsea from Real Madrid, the latest name in the frame thanks to AS English.
But two-and-a-half years after the links first emerged, why Tottenham have not yet been mentioned in conjunction with a certain 22-year-old remains a mystery.
According to The Sun in April 2016, Tottenham were scouting a then-teenage Huddersfield Town midfielder Philip Billing. But is the Danish powerhouse proving right now that he is the perfect man to fill a Dembele-shaped void in Pochettino’s midfield?
After a hit and miss 2017/18, Billing is going from strength to strength this season and appears to be getting better by the week. Not only that, he appears to share Dembele’s blend of steel and skill, smashing opponents of the ball before carrying it forward with real class and composure.

Billing has one hell of a strike on him too.
At 22, the Huddersfield man-mountain has youth on his side and just imagine what Pochettino could do with a midfielder of such raw talent.
