Leeds United have been linked with Hearts’ 16-year-old Harry Cochrane – who appears to fit the bill for Thomas Christiansen.
Thomas Christiansen has enough confidence in his Leeds United squad to demand just one new first-teamer in the January transfer window, according to Leeds Live.
But while the manager wants one player who will immediately step into the starting XI, the report adds that he also has his eye on a talented youngster who will split his time between the senior squad and the under-23’s side.
So does Harry Cochrane, one of the brightest talents in Scottish football, fit the bill?
Per the Scottish Sun, Leeds are interested in moving for Hearts’ fresh-faced midfielder and would be willing to pay an initial £500,000 – plus a few extras to sweeten the deal.
And while Cochrane may only be 16 years of age, he has already proven that he is ready for senior football, having made six appearances in the Scottish top flight this season, four of those coming from the start.
Ready for Leeds?
A composed and mature central midfielder, Cochrane’s range of passing and intelligent distribution has caught the eye – suggesting he could be ready to make an impact on Leeds’ first-team though he has a long way to go before his physical attributes match the technical ones.
And Leeds would appear to be the perfect place for Cochrane to continue his development, having brought through Lewie Coyle, Ronaldo Vieira and co in recent seasons.
It remains to be seen, however, whether Leeds will take a punt on a player with seven league appearences under his belt in January.
