West Ham United are reportedly trying to bring Besiktas’ Gary Medel back to the Premier League, which could be the end for Manuel Pellegrini’s signing.

Carlos Sanchez was hardly the most eye-catching of West Ham’s £100 million summer splurge.
And the 32-year-old midfielder, who flopped spectacularly during a previous spell at Aston Villa, has predictably struggled since returning to England.
The Colombian international made a horrible mistake which condemned West Ham to a home defeat against Wolves in September and, just two games later, limped out of the 8-0 EFL Cup thrashing of League Two Macclesfield Town.
But could Sanchez already have played his last game for The Hammers? After undergoing surgery, the former Fiorentina and Elche enforcer could be out for the rest of the season.
And, by the time he returns, Gary Medel could have taken his place as Manuel Pellegrini’s experienced ankle-biter.

Sky Sports claim that West Ham are set to travel to Turkey this week to enter negotiations with the 31-year-old Chilean international, who is facing an uncertain future at cash-strapped Besiktas. Milliyet believes The Hammers are due to offer £5 million for Medel, a former Inter Milan and Sevila midfielder who won successive Copa America titles in 2015 and 2016.
And if Medel arrives, it is hard to see what point there would be in West Ham keeping hold of the older and slower Sanchez.
