Top flight clubs are in good hands with their goalkeepers at the moment but Jeroen Zoet should still attract some longing glances.

PSV goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet has admitted that he is ‘dreaming’ of a move to the Premier League or the Bundesliga, Football Oranje reports.

The Dutch international has been one of the most consistent shot-stoppers in the Eredivisie over recent seasons, helping Phillip Cocu’s side to successive league titles while earning six international caps.

However, the Dutch top flight’s best and brightest don’t tend to stay around very long these days, with Zoet heavily tipped to follow former team-mates Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum to the Premier League.

And Zoet himself has admitted that it has been a lifelong ambition of his to ply his trade in the English game, though he has also admitted that the Bundesliga would not be a bad alternative.

“That’s a dream for me [playing in England or Germany],” the 25-year-old said in quotes reported by Football Oranje.

“Maybe next summer a club reports for me. But if I go, I want to know that I have a good chance to play.”

Therefore, this should rule out Manchester City, who were linked with a £7 million move for Zoet by the Daily Mirror before Claudio Bravo arrived at the Etihad.

However, despite the Chilean’s erratic performances so far, he remains an essential part of Pep Guardiola’s build-from-the-back blueprint, meaning Zoet would likely be restricted to a substitute role, albeit as an upgrade on Willy Caballero (below).

Consequently, a switch instead to Crystal Palace would appear to suit all parties, with The Eagles number one Steve Mandanda suffering injury problems of late and understudy Wayne Hennessey proving inconsistent whenever he gets the opportunity to step in.

The Mail also claim that Palace watched Zoet in action during PSV’s Dutch Super Cup win over Groningen in August, and the smart money could be on the Londoners reigniting their interest next summer.
