Marvin Compper is still at Scottish Premiership champions Celtic despite being heavily tipped to leave on deadline day.

Around 24 hours before transfer deadline day, speculation emerged about the future of Celtic’s seldom-seen centre-back Marvin Compper.
Hoops fans were left divided by the £1 million signing of a 30-something defender in January, particularly as Compper had played just 91 minutes of Bundesliga football in the first half of last season.
And their concerns are now justified. In eight months at Celtic, the 33-year-old has not featured in a single league game for the Scottish Premiership champions, largely due to injury, with his only outing coming in a cup clash against Greenock Morton in March.
The Scottish Sun claimed last week that Compper could be on his way out of Celtic at the end of August with Parkhead bosses ready to cut their losses despite the two years remaining on his contract.
But once September started, Compper was still a Celtic player and will be until 2019. Although the chances of him reigniting his Hoops career look slim.

Filip Benkovic (above) arrived on loan from Leicester City on deadline day while Dedryck Boyata stayed dispute plenty of interest on the continent. Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers rates young pair Jack Hendry and Kristoffer Ajer very highly and Jozo Simunovic remains an option too.
As does Nir Bitton, the Israeli midfielder who featured regularly at centre-back last season.
Compper, then, appears to be well down the pecking order. He might have been better off leaving before he had even made his league bow.
