Steven Defour’s season ended in January due to injury but West Ham United still want to sign the Burnley midfielder according to reports.

David Moyes might look to be on his way out of West Ham United but that does not mean the club can afford to overlook the addition of a new central midfielder this summer.
Moyes had made a dynamic, box-to-box enforcer his top priority with a whole host of energetic midfielders linked with a move to the London Stadium. With Mark Noble ageing, Cheikhou Kouyate out of form and the future of Pedro Obiang uncertain, a new signing remains necessary for the Hammers no matter who is sat in the hot seat when next season kicks off.
That said, Burnley supporters would clearly be very unhappy if Steven Defour ended up being West Ham’s new central linchpin.

Before then, the one-time £8 million club-record signing had been in superb form for Burnley and, even if he made just 24 Premier League starts, it would be unfair to overlook his contribution as Sean Dyche’s side finished a remarkable seventh.
And, after posting an end-of-season message on Twitter, Defour has been inundated by Burnley fans asking him to stay. So, if West Ham did manage to pull off a deal, it would result in a substantial outcry around Turf Moor.
