After ten years in yellow and green, it is hard to imagine Wes Hoolahan playing for one of Norwich City’s Championship rivals.

But, after being released by the Canaries at the end of last season, the 36-year-old could be about to return to action with West Bromwich Albion.

According to the East Anglian Daily Times, Hoolahan is on trial with West Brom with a view to earning a contract at The Hawthorns. And there is certainly some very strong views to this potential shock switch on Twitter.

It speaks volumes about Hoolahan’s reputation at Carrow Road that the Norwich fans seem to be particularly unhappy with the idea of ‘Wessi’ lining up in West Brom colours.

Even in his mid-thirties, the former Republic of Ireland international still has one of the sharpest creative minds in the Championship and many believe that Norwich have made a mistake letting him go.

Although it seems that Hoolahan would be arriving at West Brom needing to win over his new supporters. The Baggies have scored the most goals in the league with 15 and, with Harvey Barnes thriving in that number ten role, Hoolahan could just be an experienced back-up.
