Bernardo Silva was breathtaking against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League; but would they pay his huge asking price?

From flanking Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain as a fully-fledged member of Europe’s nouveau-riche to developing within and perfecting the buy-low, sell-high dogma, the AS Monaco side that gave Manchester City an almighty scare in midweek are an entirely different proposition to the one that plucked James Rodriguez out of Porto and Radamel Falcao from Atletico.
And, according to Turkish Football, Europe’s premiere talent-spotters are hoping to add Galatasaray’s flying winger Bruma to their youthful and rather breath-taking squad.
Gala may have struggled for consistency this season but 22-year-old Bruma has taken his game to another level, scoring seven and assisting six in 19 league games to pique the interest of the principality club.
And Turkish Football report that Bruma, who has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur for a number of months, has been headhunted as the ideal replacement for the fleet-footed Bernardo Silva.
Spurs would no doubt be disappointed at the prospect of missing out on Bruma, who The Sun report was on Mauricio Pochettino’s radar in January. Ironically, however, could this fuel a swoop for his potential predecessor?

The Sunday Times claim that Spurs are considering challenging Chelsea for Bernardo Silva despite a £68 million price tag that would more than double the club’s current record signing. Fittingly, however, the Portuguese is twice a talented as ill-fitting summer signing Moussa Sissoko.
A smooth dribbler with Hazard-esque footwork, Silva ran rings around Pep Guardiola’s defence on Tuesday and Spurs have sampled with brilliance first-hand; the 22-year-old thumped home a stunning individual goal at Wembley in the Champions League group stages this season.

Overall, he could raise Tottenham onto another plane whereas Bruma, like Clinton N’Jie and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, is just another talented yet raw winger unproven at the top level.
