While Wolverhampton Wanderers have cruised to the Championship title, Ben Marshall has been getting his career back on track at Millwall

Ben Marshall might not have expected when he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2017 that he would soon have to compete against a Portuguese U21 international on the books of Atletico Madrid who had played for FC Porto in the Champions League the previous season.
But as soon as Diogo Jota arrived at Molineux, joining compatriots Helder Costa and Ivan Cavaleiro, Marshall found first-team football almost impossible to obtain.
So no wonder the former Blackburn Rovers and Leicester City winger is enjoying life at Millwall so much.

Marshall joined The Lions in January on a short-term loan and has scored three goals and set up another five for Neil Harris’ side, who have broken from mid-table to put together a shock play-off challenge. And the 27-year-old has admitted that he would consider staying this summer.
“I know what it’s like here,” Marshall, who cost Wolves about £2 million, told the News at Den.
“If I were to go to another team I wouldn’t. I know what the manager wants here, I know what I’m getting.
“Of course I’d love to come back. But before thinking about that we’ve got to try to get into the play-offs and do as best we can. We’ll sit down after that and see what happens.”

Marshall has missed out on a Championship winners medal with his Wolves team-mates currently celebrating promotion to the Premier League.
But Millwall are in with a shout of being a top tier side next season too. Inspired by Marshall’s creativity, they are seventh with two games to go, two points behind Derby County in the final play-off position.
