Championship outfit Aston Villa beat Celtic to Hibernian midfielder John McGinn and they’ll be very glad already that they did.

If John McGinn’s debut is anything to go by, £3 million could be an absolute bargain.
Aston Villa reacted fast to snatch the highly-rated midfielder from under the noses of Scottish Premiership giants Celtic last week. And the former Hibernian talisman enjoyed a dream debut in Villa colours on Saturday.
He was arguably the best player on the pitch in the 3-2 win away at Wigan Athletic, assisting James Chester’s opener and producing a series of pin point deliveries with his wand of a left foot.
And Ian Holloway, speaking 24 minutes into Quest’s EFL programme on Saturday night, believes £3 million for McGinn is a real coup.
“They have (got a new hero). I was aware of (McGinn) last season and he is worth at least that amount,” said the former QPR boss when asked whether McGinn was worth £10 million.

Hibs surely would have demanded more money for the nine-time Scotland international but McGinn had just one year left on his contract, allowing Aston Villa to snap him up without breaking the bank.
The 23-year-old arrived with a reputation for plenty of energy and drive in the centre of the park but his technical ability will have perhaps caught the fans by surprise.
