All eyes will be on Michael Dawson when Nottingham Forest travel to Hull City in Saturday’s Championship clash.
The 35-year-old spent the last four seasons at the KCOM Stadium, captaining The Tigers more often than not, before returning to the club where he started his career.
Dawson is expected to start at the centre of Forest’s defence in his first game back against his former club – but former Hull player Peter Swan believes Dawson’s presence in Aitor Karanka’s starting XI could actually benefit Nigel Adkins’ team.
“I say this with the greatest of respect, but I think if he plays on Saturday he could well be the weak link City will look to exploit,” Swan, who represented Hull between 1989 and 1991, told The Hull Daily Mail.

“His best days are well and truly behind him and as a result he has found playing time hard to come by at the City Ground.”
Dawson has started four of Forest’s last five games in all competitions, and will likely retain his place for the trip to Humberside.
And the fact that Karanka’s promotion hopefuls have kept successive clean sheets, against Sheffield United and Stoke City, bodes well for their chances of keeping Hull City quiet tomorrow afternoon. So it remains to be seen whether Swan will be made to eat his words in the aftermath.
