Hull City reportedly want Liverpool’s Ryan Kent as part of the deal taking Andrew Robertson to Anfield and that may not go down well with Leeds United.

The futures of both Andrew Robertson and Ryan Kent have been discussed at great length this summer.

The Hull City left-back is reportedly on the radar of a number of top flight clubs after impressing despite the Tigers’ relegation from the Premier League last season. Meanwhile, Bournemouth were willing to pay £6 million for the exciting Liverpool winger, as reported by The Sun, who stood out on loan at Barnsley last season.

However, according to the Liverpool Echo, Robertson and Kent could make their much-anticipated moves sooner rather than later in a deal that looks happily convenient for all parties.

The report claims that Liverpool are in advanced negotiations to sign the Scottish international full-back for £8 million and Hull hope that they will be able to land Kent on loan as part of the deal.

The Sun had reported that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp was keen to give the 20-year-old attacker a chance in pre-season and he duly impressed as they cruised past Tranmere Rovers 4-0 on Wednesday evening.

However, the club-record signing of Mo Salah has pushed Kent further down the pecking order, meaning a second successive short-term move to the Championship could be the logical next step in his development.

Can’t land Kent?

Although it appeared that Leeds United were hoping Elland Road would be Kent’s next destination. The Daily Star claimed last month that the Whites were battling Celtic for the youngster’s signature.

However, it appears that Hull now have an advantage with Liverpool’s desire to land Robertson likely to make them more receptive to Kent leaving for Humberside.

Fortunately, Leeds landing Macedonian international Ezgjan Alioski from Swiss side Lugano could at least compensate for the Championship promotion chasers missing out on one of their most exciting summer targets.
