Joao Carvalho scored a stunning opener as Nottingham Forest beat Nigel Adkins’ Hull City 3-0 in the Championship on Saturday.

Hull City boss Nigel Adkins has suggested that Nottingham Forest did not deserve to win 3-0 at the City Ground on Saturday while pointing out that Joao Carvalho’s stunning strike changed the game, as reported by the Hull Daily Mail.
Forest and Hull were level at 0-0 with 20 minutes remaining at the weekend but Carvalho changed the game late in the second half.
The club’s £13 million record signing scored the sort of goal that justified his massive price tag, rifling home a brilliant long-range shot that clattered the post on its way in just four minutes after he came off the bench.
Hull collapsed from then on, conceding two more goals to Karim Ansarifard and Joe Lolley as Forest produced one of their most impressive results of the season.
Adkins, however, has suggested that things could have been very different if it was not for a wonder-strike from former Benfica starlet Carvalho.

“We were well in the game and the first goal was obviously going to be decisive,” said the ex-Southampton manager.
“It’s fair to say it’s a wonder strike from the lad (Carvalho) who’s scored, in off both posts from long-range.
“The scoreline is the wrong one because for long periods we were well and truly in the game.”
The result means that Martin O’Neill’s Nottingham Forest moved up to eighth in the table, just two points behind Bristol City in the final play-off positions. Hull meanwhile are down to eleventh after four consecutive away defeats.
