Lewis Morgan is reportedly set to leave Scottish Premiership champions Celtic on loan with both Hull City and Sunderland linked so far.
Lewis Morgan agreed to return for a second spell at Celtic 12 months ago. But it has hardly gone to plan.
Forcing your way into a talented Hoops team is easier said than done and Morgan has failed to start a single Scottish Premiership appearance all season, his nine outings all coming from the substitutes bench.
And with Oliver Burke on his way to Glasgow from West Brom, the former St Mirren winger could fall further down the pecking order. As a result, teams from south of the border seem to be offering him an escape route – and one of those is Hull City.
“We’ve had a look at a lot of players in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and obviously Lewis is one,” Hull boss Nigel Adkins told the Scottish Sun.
“Celtic have brought two or three players in forward-wise. He’s a young lad and did really well at his previous club but that wasn’t in the top level of Scottish football.
“(He’s a) young lad, dynamic winger, he’s exciting to watch.”
Morgan scored 18 goals and assisted 13 more to fire St Mirren to the Scottish Championship title in 2017/18 and would add further creativity to an exciting Hull team who have won seven of their last eight league games.
And the Scottish Sun reports that he is set to leave Celtic on loan this month though The Tigers could face competition from Sunderland.
The League One club’s manager Jack Ross worked with Morgan in Paisley last season after all.
