Kortney Hause has struggled for chances at Wolverhampton Wanderers but could still get a move to the Premier League with Huddersfield Town.

Kortney Hause was one of the best players on the pitch as Wolverhampton Wanderers frustrated Manchester City in October’s EFL Cup clash. He helped keep Pep Guardiola’s buccaneering Blues off the score sheet for the first time since April; before they prevailed on penalties, that is.

But that excellent performance against Sergio Aguero and co still hasn’t allowed Hause to nail down a place in Wolves’ starting XI. In fact, the centre-back has only played seven minutes of Championship football all season.

It is no surprise, then, that Hause has been linked with an exit. The Sun stated earlier this month that Premier League club Huddersfield Town were mulling over a £2.5 million deal for the youngster, who has just 18 months remaining on his contract at Molineux.

But even though the 22-year-old has struggled for opportunities this season, does it really make any sense for Wolves to cash in now?

Hause is a player with great potential and, as he proved against City at the Etihad, certainly has the ability and the class to compete against the very best in English football.

The likes of Willy Boly, Danny Batth, Ryan Bennett and Roderick Miranda may be blocking his route to the starting XI right now, but surely Wolves would be better served loaning the England Under-23 ace out in order to hand him some much needed first-team football.

Because Wolves are building for an exciting future with the signings of Rafa Mir, Benny Ashley-Seal and even the likes of Ruben Neves and Diego Jota. Hause, at just 22, could play a major part in the club’s exciting new era; even if he has still got some developing to do first.
