Huddersfield Town need signings after their Premier League relegation and they could reportedly raid Charlton Athletic and Al-Ghafara.
Huddersfield Town are looking to prepare for life in the Championship by signing Charlton Athletic midfielder Joe Aribo as well as Iran international Mehdi Taremi, according to reports from the Examiner and Telegraf.
The Terriers finished bottom of the Premier League table and, with Jan Siewert’s squad likely to be picked apart by clubs looking for a bargain, plotting an immediate return to the top flight could be easier said than done.
Yet a midfield that could be stripped of Aaron Mooy and Phillip Billing would certainly be strengthened by the addition of Aribo on a free transfer.
The 22-year-old’s Charlton contract expires in July and he is attracting plenty of interest.
But Huddersfield, who signed Charlton striker Karlan Grant in January, appear to be planning another raid on the Addicks for their 10-goal midfielder. Aribo was compared to Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira by former boss Karl Robinson in 2016.
Telegraf also reports that Al-Ghafara striker Taremi is a target. He has 14 goals in 18 games for his country and would add some much needed firepower to a rather blunt Huddersfield attack.
Taremi has even been labelled, perhaps optimistically, as the Iranian Ibrahimovic.
