Alfredo Morelos failed to break the deadlock as Rangers drew 0-0 against Scottish Premiership rivals Hibernian on Wednesday night at Easter Road.

Well that didn’t last long.
After just four days at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, Rangers once again fell behind their bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic on Wednesday night. While Brendan Rodgers’ side moved a point clear with a 3-0 thrashing of Motherwell, the Gers stumbled to a goalless draw against Hibernian.
But it is not all negative.
Rangers were impressive against a Hibs side who beat Celtic at the weekend, dominating large spells of the game and only being denied a win by an inspired performance by the substitute goalkeeper Adam Bogdan.
Alfredo Morelos, returning from his third suspension of the season, was particularly unfortunate not to break the deadlock. Though, speaking to the Daily Record after the game, Hibs boss Neil Lennon has admitted his side struggled to deal with the rampaging ‘Bufalo’.
“Morelos was always a threat tonight. He was very, very good,” Lennon said. “I was singing his praises before the game and I was glad he didn’t have his shooting boots on because he was a real threat.

“It was a great point in the end and we rode our lucky at times.”
Morelos has scored 17 goals in all competitions this season, meaning he is just one away from matching his tally from the entire 2018/19 campaign.
And while Rangers dropped points with their away day hoodoo continuing, Steven Gerrard should be justifiably pleased with the performance of his number 20 and the rest of his team as a whole.
