Craig Gordon made a wonderful save to deny Martin Boyle as Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic beat Hibernian 4-2 in a thrilling Scottish Premiership clash.

Craig Gordon might turn 36 in just two months’ time but there is clearly life in the old dog yet.
The Scotland number one was the unsung hero of Celtic’s 4-2 victory against Hibernian on Saturday, a result that puts Brendan Rodgers’ supposedly crisis-ridden club second in the table and just three points adrift of shock league leaders Hearts.
Yes, Gordon was beaten by both Florian Kamberi and Martin Boyle in the second half but, in truth, there was very little even the very best goalkeepers could have done to stop two sublime finishes.
The former Sunderland and Hearts stopper, however, did offer a reminder of his enduring class with one wonderful save to deny a first-half header from Boyle. Hibs’ influential number 10 glanced an intelligent flick towards the far post, only for Gordon to pull off a superb reflex stop.
“We had chances, Craig Gordon has brought off an unbelievable save from me,” Boyle told The Scotsman.

“It was good to get on the score-sheet but we let ourselves and the gaffer down in the first half. However, not many teams will go to Celtic Park and score two goals, so there are positives.”
Celtic have looked back to their best going forwards of late, scoring 10 times in their last two matches. Tom Rogic and Olivier Ntcham both netted goals of class and precision against Hibernian while £9 million man Odsonne Edouard grabbed two himself.
