Aston Villa’s failure in the Championship play-off final means some key players could leave – including Albert Adomah.

Back on transfer deadline day in the summer of 2016, Aston Villa and Middlesbrough put their heads together and came up with a swap deal involving Adama Traore and Albert Adomah.
The then Boro boss Aitor Karanka admitted to the Gazzette Live that Adomah swapping the Riverside for Villa Park was a ‘good move’. But this does not mean the Spaniard doesn’t rate the Ghanaian winger – far from it.

Adomah started 36 games as Karanka’s Middlesbrough won promotion to the Premier League two years ago, scoring six goals and assisting another five along the way.
But would Karanka be tempted to reunite with Adomah this summer? The fans of his current club, Nottingham Forest, certainly hope so.

And Forest are hoping that Adomah will be one of those on the market. The 30-year-old enjoyed the best season of his career in 2017/18, scoring an unexpected 14 goals in 37 Championship starts, all while playing on the wing.
Needless to say, he’d be a fine addition for a Forest side who found goals very difficult to come by last season.
