Premier League Spurs have been linked with Fiorentina’s Serie A starlet and Italy international Federico Chiesa.

The general consensus surrounding Federico Chiesa is that he has the undoubted talent to be Italy’s go-to attacker and one of the most exciting young forwards anywhere in Europe. But there are plenty of rough edges that need to be smoothed before he can be considered the ‘real deal’.
Italy were deservedly beaten by an impressive Portugal 1-0 at Benfica’s Estadio Da Luz stadium on Monday night. And, depending on your perspective, Chiesa was either Italy’s liveliest player or a raw 20-year-old talent with feet quicker than his brain.
It was an exciting display but a frustrating one from the highly-rated Fiorentina attacker. So anyone wanting to sign Chiesa, who Tuttomercatoweb believe is valued at around £53 million, should be aware that they are not getting the finished product.

Calciomercato have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are hot on Chiesa’s trail and the versatile forward is certainly a typical Spurs signing; young, promising and with plenty of potential and re-sale value.
But while Chiesa may be a £53 million attacker one day, he has a long way to go before Tottenham should even consider smashing their transfer record to bring him to North London.
Another season in Italy is best for everyone concerned.
