Henry Onyekuru was linked with West Ham United before his move to Everton in the summer transfer window.
Everton recently completed the signing Henry Onyekuru from Eupen for a transfer fee reported by The Liverpool Echo to be worth £7 million. The 20-year-old forward is a hugely talented and promising player, and other clubs were reportedly interested in him.
According to The Daily Mail, West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United wanted the Nigeria international, who eventually chose Everton.
The youngster, who has been loaned out to Anderlecht for the 2017-18 campaign, has explained his decision to move to the Toffees.
“Before making the decision I seek some advice from Nigeria ex-players like Osaze Odemwingie, and he gave me some advices you know,” Onyekuru told Owngoalnigeria.com. “I have some other clubs you know ready to offer more than what Everton did.
“But I begged with my agent I need to play inside the pitch and not just the financial aspect for my career I need a coach that will push me to make a good career for me, so I choose Everton because the coach really wants me and I am going to take a loan to Anderlecht, so it’s good for my career.”

Both West Ham and Everton are aiming to sign Olivier Giroud from Arsenal and Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea City according to The London Evening Standard and The Mirror, but the Toffees could have an advantage with Koeman in charge.
