Premier League outfit Everton and Ligue 1 side Lyon are two of the teams reportedly interested in signing Barcelona’s Colombian centre-back Yerry Mina.

It is difficult to keep track of the whole Yerry Mina situation with countless Premier League clubs, and teams from across the continent, making moves for the coveted Barcelona defender.
But what is clear is that Everton are right at the front of the queue. They are one of the sides who have been linked with Mina even before his impressive displays for Colombia at the World Cup and Goal reports that he is willing to move to Goodison Park after just six months in Spain.
Everton have reportedly offered £15 million plus add-ons for the former Palmeiras favourite.
But if you ask Lyon’s outspoken president Jean-Michel Aulas, the 23-year-old could do better than The Toffees. His side are interested too and, with Champions League football on offer, Aulas is confident Lyon have an advantage over their Premier League rivals.
“I have in my mind one example where we are in a battle with Everton,” Aulas said ahead of the Ligue 1 side’s pre-season friendly with Huddersfield, as reported by Goal.

“I don’t think they play in the Champions League. There is indeed a gap in terms of revenue. If we think about the same player then he told me that he would prefer us than playing for a club that doesn’t play the Champions League.”
Lyon sold Mouctar Diakhaby to Valencia back in June for around £13 million, according to Marca, so there is room in their squad for a young, ball-playing centre-back of Mina’s ilk.
But it remains to be seen whether the lure of playing in the Premier League trumps the prospect of a European adventure with Lyon.
