Harry Wilson is soaring for the club’s Under-23s at the moment, but how long until he makes his long-awaited first-team bow?

They like their academy graduates at Liverpool. You wouldn’t expect to see Steven Gerrard or Jamie Carragher getting their wallet out in a crowded bar now would you?
And, while Harry Wilson may still have the freedom to wander unrecognised through the streets of Merseyside, such a luxury may not be particularly long-lasting. After all, they’ve got high hopes for Harry on the red half of the city.

You may remember him from becoming the youngest international in the history of Wales, coming on as a substitute against Belgium in 2013 aged just 16. For contexts sake, he was a full 108 days younger than Gareth Bale. And he turned out alright. Though it’s fair to say Wilson’s ability to play for England due to his dual nationality certainly had something to do with his fast-tracking from the under-17s to the seniors.
Three years on, however, Wilson is still waiting for his professional debut for his club. Though, after a sensational start to the Premier League B season, the 19-year-old may not have to wait much longer. Jurgen Klopp has handed out debuts with mirth since arriving at Anfield and, after Wilson netted again in Sunday’s 2-0 Under-23s victory against Everton, a long awaited first-team bow could be arriving sooner rather than later.

If Liverpool fans had their way, the tricky wideman will be featuring against Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup this midweek.
